Position Summary: Humanitarian Aid International is seeking a Communications & Social Media Intern to support our communication and social media efforts. The intern will work closely with the Communications Manager to assist in a variety of tasks, including content creation, website management, and social media strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, creative, and motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in communications within the humanitarian sector. Key Responsibilities: Social Media Management: Assist in creating and scheduling posts across HAI’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). Content Creation: Develop engaging written, graphic, and video content to promote HAI’s programs, initiatives, and campaigns. Website Assistance: Support the Communications Manager in website development, including content updates, blog posts, and overall site maintenance. Campaign Support: Help implement social media campaigns, including content development, performance tracking, and engagement. Research & Analytics: Assist in monitoring social media metrics and provide insights on trends and engagement. Internal Communication: Help create internal newsletters and communication materials to keep the team informed about ongoing activities and events. General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance as needed for communication-related activities and events. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in English Honours, Journalism, History Honours, International Relations, Law, Computer Applications, or a similar field. Fluency in English: Strong written and spoken English communication skills. Digital Proficiency: Working knowledge of Google Workplace (G Suite) and Microsoft Office Suite. Creative Tools: Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar graphic design platforms. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in all communication-related tasks. Team Player: Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments and work effectively in a team environment. Motivation to Learn: Eagerness to learn about the humanitarian sector and develop new skills in communications, digital media, and social media strategy. Preferred Experience/Skills: Graphic Design & Video Editing: Experience in graphic design, video editing, and filming when necessary. Content Writing: Experience in content writing for blogs, social media, or websites. Fluency in Other Languages: Fluency in Hindi or other Indian languages is a plus.
