Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Commodity Sugar Trader to join our team at Hooqx, Kolkata. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in sugar export trading, rice trading, and agri-commodity markets. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end trading operations, developing supplier and buyer relationships, negotiating contracts, and maximizing profitability in line with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle international trading of sugar and rice, from sourcing to final delivery.
• Manage and expand the client and supplier network across global markets.
• Conduct market research and analyze global commodity trends, prices, and demand-supply patterns.
• Negotiate trading contracts, pricing, and terms with clients and vendors.
• Coordinate with logistics, documentation, and finance teams for smooth execution of export operations.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, quality standards, and export documentation requirements.
• Prepare sales forecasts, profit/loss statements, and market reports for management review.
• Identify new business opportunities and participate in trade fairs or buyer-seller meets.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in commodity trading (sugar/rice export markets).
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, and export documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven track record of handling B2B trade transactions and overseas clients.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with ERP/trade management software.
• Ability to work independently and make strategic trading decisions.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of commodity pricing and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA in International Business, Commerce, or Economics.
• Prior experience in global commodity houses or export trading firms.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.

Compensation:

Salary will be based on last drawn and relevant experience.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
