Collection/Recovery Manager

Job Description

Role Summary: We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead our Collections & Recovery function across all loan portfolios, including unsecured loans, secured loans. The ideal candidate will drive strategy, execution, and compliance across early-stage collections, hard bucket recovery, legal, and write-off accounts. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy & Execution Define and drive the overall collections and recovery roadmap across secured and unsecured portfolios. Develop and implement robust strategies for early bucket (soft collections), late-stage (hard), skip tracing, and legal recovery. Continuously monitor portfolio risk and design action plans to minimize NPAs and credit losses. 2. Operational Oversight Lead and manage in-house staff, Branch staff and third-party agencies. Track daily/weekly performance across buckets (0–90 DPD, 90+ DPD, write-offs). 3. Agency & Vendor Management Empanel, train, and supervise collection agencies and legal vendors. Monitor agency productivity, compliance, and cost of collection. Introduce incentive structures to drive collections performance. 4. Legal Recovery Oversee legal recovery including 138 Act, arbitration, civil/criminal proceedings, and Lok Adalats. Coordinate with legal counsel for filing and follow-up of cases. 5. Technology & Reporting Leverage collection management systems (CMS), telephony tools, and analytics dashboards. Drive digital collections (UPI, auto-debit, wallets) and self-service options. Generate MIS, recovery forecasts, and present performance to management. 6. Compliance & Customer Sensitivity Ensure adherence to RBI and Fair Practice Code norms. Train field/tele teams on customer conduct, data privacy, and grievance redressal.
