Credit Assessment & Underwriting: Evaluate loan applications by analyzing financial documents, bank statements, credit reports, and customer information. Assess applicant credibility, repayment capacity, and overall risk. Approve or reject loan files based on policy guidelines and risk factors. Monitor deviations and ensure decisions are well-documented. 2. Policy & Risk Management Develop, implement, and update credit policies and risk evaluation frameworks. Identify fraud indicators, high-risk patterns, and portfolio vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with RBI/NBFC guidelines and internal SOPs. Maintain strong quality checks to minimize delinquency and defaults. 3. Portfolio Management Track and review overall portfolio performance, delinquency levels, risk distribution, and product-wise trends. Suggest corrective measures to reduce NPAs and improve asset quality. Monitor critical customer segments and provide risk-based recommendations. 4. Coordination With Internal Teams Work closely with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Recovery teams to streamline end-to-end credit flow. Support Sales with pre-screening criteria and eligibility guidance. Collaborate with Tech teams to enhance risk tools and underwriting systems. 5. Reporting & Documentation Prepare regular MIS reports on approval rates, portfolio risk, fraud cases, and policy deviations. Ensure accurate documentation of underwriting decisions and customer data. Present analytical insights to senior management for strategic planning. 6. Leadership & Performance Management Lead and mentor the credit assessment team (if applicable). Conduct training sessions for teams on credit policy, underwriting tools, and fraud prevention. Ensure timely file processing and adherence to TAT. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, or related field (MBA preferred). 6 M to 1 year of experience in credit underwriting within NBFC, Banking, or Fintech sector. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Proficiency in financial analysis, bank statement evaluation, risk assessment, and credit tools. Good understanding of compliance, KYC norms, and RBI/NBFC guidelines. Strong Excel and MIS reporting skills.
