Magic Bus India Foundation is one of the leading NGOs in education and skilling in India. Over the past 26 years, the organisation has established a strong presence across 22 states and union territories, impacting on the lives of young people from underserved communities between the ages of 12 to 25 years. Through its two distinct programmes - the Adolescent Programme and Livelihood Programme Magic Bus equips young people with essential life and employability skills to help them move out of poverty and lead sustainable lives. The Adolescent Programme empowers adolescents (12–18 years) with life skills education and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). To support this, Magic Bus has established an impressive network of 30,000 schools, 343 Community Learning Centres (CLCs), and MOUs with 10 state governments and NITI Aayog. Notably, 52% of the participants are girls, reflecting the programme’s strong focus on gender inclusion. The Livelihood Programme prepares youth (18–25 years) for sustainable careers by imparting transferable life and employability skills. Magic Bus has set up 133 Livelihood Centres, built 1,130+ college partnerships, and established Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs from underserved communities. 60% of the programme’s participants are young women, highlighting a strong emphasis on empowering women through skilling. In addition, Magic Bus has expanded into the Peri-Urban and Rural Livelihood Programme, focusing on empowering women in peri-urban and rural areas through leadership and enterprise and move towards financial independence.

Through its sustained efforts, Magic Bus has empowered over 35 lakh adolescents and 5 lakh youth, enabling their transition from childhood to livelihood.

Role Overview

The Coach will implement Magic Bus’s curriculum using the medium of sports excellence programme. The role involves facilitating structured sessions that build teamwork, leadership, discipline, and gender inclusivity through sports-based activities for adolescents aged 12–18 years.

Key Responsibilities

•

Conduct regular sports sessions in schools and communities.

•

Organize inter-school and intra-community sports tournaments and exhibitions.

•

Create opportunities for players to participate in local, district, and state-level tournaments.

•

Travel with players for matches, training camps, and exposure visits as required.

•

Identify and nurture young sporting talent with a focus on inclusion and participation.

•

Engage with teachers, parents, and local stakeholders to promote sports-led learning.

•

Maintain attendance, participation, and progress data as per programme requirements.

•

Ensure safety, discipline, and gender equity during all sessions and events.

•

Coordinate with school authorities, community leaders, and local sports departments.

•

Promote awareness about health, hygiene, and nutrition during sessions and community events.

•

Maintain weekly processes of session attendance and session reports as per the implementation plan.

•

Maintain monthly processes for end-of-month reports, special events, and curriculum skills and fitness testing as per the implementation plan.

•

Provide feedback through monthly reports on ways to strengthen the existing curriculum based on user-centred field testing.

•

Provide mentorship to adolescents to build confidence, leadership, and life goals.

•

Ensure the Magic Bus Child Protection Policy (CPP) is maintained and monitored.

•

Maintain a consistent presence on the ground with children to promote development through sports .

Key Skills and Competencies

•

Understanding and receptive of Sport for Development methodology.

•

Comprehensive understanding of laws, terminology, skills, fitness of specific sports. (Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi and, any other)

•

Technical and tactical knowledge of specific sports. (Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi and, any other)

•

Patience to teach girls and boy children in a clear and fun manner.

•

Inclination to collaborate, communicate and document effectively.

•

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

•

Proficiency in English & Local language based on programme location.

Qualification & Experience

•

Graduate in Physical Education / Sports Science / any relevant discipline.

•

Selection can also be based on the coach’s seniority, ability, experience

•

1–3 years of experience in coaching or training adolescents in specific sports. Strong communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.

•

Certification/License from recognized sports bodies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹26,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
