Job Title: CMDB Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

CMDB Specialist

to design, implement, and maintain the

ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

. The role involves ensuring data integrity, building automation through discovery and integrations, and aligning CMDB data with ITSM, ITOM, SAM, and HAM processes.

Key Responsibilities

CMDB Administration: Design, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness across all configuration items (CIs).
Discovery & Service Mapping: Implement and manage ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and IntegrationHub connections to automatically populate and update CI data.
Data Quality & Governance: Develop and manage data certification, reconciliation policies, and health dashboards to monitor data accuracy and completeness.
Process Alignment: Collaborate with ITSM, ITOM, SAM, and HAM teams to ensure CMDB supports Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset processes effectively.
Integration Management: Integrate CMDB with external data sources such as SCCM, AWS, Azure, vCenter, and SolarWinds for automated CI data ingestion.
Reporting & Analytics: Generate CMDB reports, KPIs, and health metrics for management and audit readiness.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data models, workflows, and automation for enhanced CMDB maturity.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB design, class modeling, and CI relationships.
Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and IntegrationHub.
Familiarity with data certification, reconciliation, and data governance frameworks.
Experience integrating CMDB with SCCM, AWS, Azure, VMware vCenter, and SolarWinds.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Asset).
Basic scripting experience in JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python for data integration and automation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB / Discovery
ITIL Foundation Certification
Exposure to SAM, HAM, or ITOM modules in ServiceNow
