Founded in 1999 by Matthew Spacie, Magic Bus India Foundation aims to help young people break out of poverty by enabling them to complete their education and gain employable skills. The organization works with adolescents and young people aged 12 to 24 through its Childhood to Livelihood programme, which includes Life Skills education, employability training, and connecting youth to sustainable job opportunities. Magic Bus has expanded to over 24 states in India and impacted more than 1 million young people. The organization has set up 240 Community Learning Centres, 80 Livelihood Centres, 8 Entrepreneurship Incubation Centres, and is present in 2342 schools.

Specific tasks and responsibilities

 Support youth to achieve the skills training, mentoring and employer activities outlined in their individual Personal Development Plans.

 Deliver a sharp focus on achieving successful youth placements in work, training or further education and supporting youth to sustain these for 1 year.

 Effectively utilize and leverage partnerships at all levels

 Arrange job fair / placement drives / campus recruitment youth as well as market need

 Carry out 24 hour training module (covering industry overview, mock interview, other soft skills training) as per mandated curriculum

 Monitor youth’s performance and retention with employers.

 Support youth after their placements to ensure that they retain their engagement and sustain themselves in work or education placements for up to 1 year.

 Should have experience of handling placements in colleges and mobilising youth from colleges

 Have handled bulk placements and should be efficient in handling big numbers

 Act as a role model at all times demonstrating behaviour that displays the characteristics youth should develop to be successful in their chosen field.
