Key Responsibilities

• Lead the FinOps strategy and governance framework to optimize cloud costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Serve as the CoreStack subject matter expert (SME), managing and optimizing its implementation for cost visibility, budgeting, and compliance.
• Partner with cloud engineering, finance, and operations teams to define and enforce cost allocation models, budget controls, and usage optimization strategies.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting dashboards, providing insights into cloud consumption, savings opportunities, and ROI.
• Perform financial modeling and cost-benefit analyses to support business decisions and project investments.
• Automate FinOps processes using scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for data aggregation, reporting, and governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate chargebacks, showbacks, and forecasting of cloud expenses.
• Drive continuous improvement in FinOps practices by leveraging tools such as CoreStack, CloudHealth, Cloudability, nOps, or CloudZero.
• Provide executive-level presentations and recommendations on cloud financial performance and optimization opportunities.
• Contribute to training and mentoring teams on FinOps best practices and cloud cost governance principles.
  

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud operations, or IT finance.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their pricing models and billing structures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools such as CoreStack, CloudHealth, Cloudability, nOps, or CloudZero.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python, SQL, or PowerShell).
• Sound knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into business outcomes.
  

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

• FinOps certifications, such as Certified FinOps Practitioner or equivalent.
• Cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar.
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing cross-functional FinOps initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
