Job Title: Commis I – Chinese Cuisine
Department: Kitchen
Location: Mohali Punjab
Reports to: Head Chef

Job Purpose

To assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and hygiene standards are maintained as per the restaurant’s culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes (dim sum, stir-fries, noodles, soups, sauces, etc.) under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Ensure mise-en-place is completed before service.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines as set by the Head Chef.
• Assist in menu planning and development of new Chinese dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Chinese kitchen section.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
• Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of ingredients.
• Support colleagues and promote teamwork within the kitchen.

Requirements

• Previous experience as Commis I or similar role in a Chinese kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking methods (wok handling, steaming, roasting, dumpling preparation, etc.).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.

Education & Experience

• Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience specializing in Chinese cuisine in hotels or fine dining restaurants.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
