Job Description: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – HealthTech
Responsibilities
● Lead and scale our engineering team across frontend, backend, and mobile
● Own architecture decisions and system design across the entire platform
● Oversee all tech operations including infrastructure, code quality, and security
● Collaborate closely with product and leadership teams to define roadmaps
● Guide fullstack and mobile developers on implementation and performance
● Maintain and scale our AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, etc.)
● Oversee real-time features using WebSockets (e.g., for chat systems)
● Maintain structured documentation and development workflows
● Handle integrations like Solr (search), Redis (cache), and GitHub (CI/CD)
● Ensure reliability and compliance of all systems
● Mentor the tech team and maintain high coding standards
Must-Have Skills
● 10+ years of fullstack development and tech leadership experience
● Deep knowledge of MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express, React.js, Node.js, LoopBack)
● Strong experience with React.js and Next.js for modern frontend development
● Proficient in TypeScript for scalable, well-typed systems
● Cloud infrastructure expertise (AWS – EC2, S3, etc.)
● Strong experience with architectural documentation and planning
● Familiar with Solr for search and Redis for in-memory caching
● Real-time systems using WebSockets
● Skilled in GitHub and version control workflows
● Proven ability to manage and grow dev teams
Bonus Points For
● Mobile app development experience (React Native or similar)
● Prior leadership in healthtech or regulated tech environments
● Experience with HIPAA or privacy compliance standards
● Strong architectural thinking with a product-driven mindset
