The Chief Security Officer (CSO) leads the university’s end-to-end physical security and safety program - policy, prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery - covering people (students, faculty, staff, visitors), property and assets (buildings, labs, libraries, data centers), and campus mobility (gates, parking, traffic). The role oversees both in-house security teams and outsourced agencies, builds strong coordination with Student Affairs/Hostels, Facilities, HR, IT, Legal, and local law enforcement, and ensures compliance with applicable guidelines for campus safety, including PSARA, where applicable for private security agencies.

Experience

• Minimum 15–20 years of overall experience in security management, law enforcement, or defense services, with at least 5–7 years in a leadership role (Chief/Deputy Chief/Senior Security Officer or equivalent
• Proven experience in managing large-scale institutional, industrial, or campus security operatio

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Administration, or a related field from a recognized university
• Master’s degree in Public Administration, Police Administration, or Business Management (preferred)
• Certifications in Security or Risk Management are desirable
• Certified Protection Professional (CPP) – ASIS International
• Physical Security Professional (PSP) – ASIS International
• Industrial Security or Disaster Management certification
• Fire Safety or Emergency Response certification (preferred)
