Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and data-driven

Category Specialist – Jewellery

to drive the commercial strategy, performance, and growth of the jewellery category on our online channel. This role requires a strong focus on

sales and support for Meta product identification

, working to ensure the right products are discoverable and performing across digital platforms.You will be responsible for

assortment planning, pricing strategy, content optimization, and margin improvement

, all while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role also requires

close collaboration with the Meta buyer and Google Ads team

to optimize ad performance, visibility, and category ROI across social and search platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy & Planning
    • Define and execute short-term and long-term strategies for the jewellery category.
    • Identify new trends, customer preferences, and assortment gaps.
    • Work closely with sourcing and buying teams to align on seasonal and promotional calendars.
  • Assortment & Merchandising
    • Curate product assortment and define the ideal product mix by sub-category (e.g., rings, necklaces, earrings).
    • Lead product launches, collection refreshes, and promotional merchandising.
    • Ensure accurate categorization and visibility of products on all platforms.
  • Pricing & Margin Management
    • Implement pricing strategies to balance sales growth and profit margins.
    • Monitor competitor pricing and market trends to stay competitive.
    • Optimize stock clearance and markdown planning.
  • Sales & Performance Analysis
    • Analyse category performance metrics (sales, margin, AOV, conversion rate).
    • Identify actionable insights and lead initiatives to improve performance.
    • Collaborate with BI/analytics to generate monthly reports.
  • Cross-functional Coordination
    • Partner with marketing, design, branding, and logistics teams for campaign planning and execution.
    • Coordinate with tech/IT teams for website functionality related to product display, filters, and checkout etc.
  • Vendor & Inventory Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, artisans, and internal buying teams.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying, preferably in jewellery or fashion retail.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with an understanding of consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and e-commerce platforms (e.g., SFCC, AMS, ERP).
  • Passion for jewellery, trends, and market dynamics.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of product lifecycle, inventory turn, and pricing models.
  • Familiarity with product content enrichment (A+ content, infographics, model imagery).
  • Knowledge of precious and semi-precious stones & Diamond is a plus.
