Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Drive revenue growth and profitability of the eCommerce business by leveraging data-driven

insights, optimizing performance metrics, and executing strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales data, website traffic, conversion rates, and customer behaviour to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies using data-driven decision-making.
  • Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions based on performance analytics.
  • Forecast sales and demand trends to ensure inventory alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor and improve key ecommerce KPIs (GMV, Conversion Rate, AOV, CAC, ROAS, CLV, etc.).
  • Identify high-performing products and categories to drive incremental sales.
  • Implement A/B testing strategies for product listings, pricing, and promotions to maximize profitability.
  • Enhance user experience by analyzing drop-off points and optimizing website/app performance.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to optimize digital ad spend for maximum ROI.
  • Analyze advertising performance across channels (Google Ads, Facebook, Amazon, etc.).
  • Develop targeted campaigns based on customer segmentation and purchase behaviour.
  • Continuously monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and strategies to stay ahead.
  • Implement dynamic pricing models to enhance margins and competitiveness.
  • Evaluate marketplace trends and customer demand to adjust product positioning.
  • Category Strategy & Planning:
  • Define and execute category growth strategies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Forecast demand and manage assortment planning to meet revenue and margin goals.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, especially Amazon, and experience withproduct listing management
  • Vendor & Supplier Management:
  • Identify, onboard, and manage vendors/suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional support to maximize margins andensure product availability.
  • Foster long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Merchandising & Pricing:
  • Drive category performance through effective pricing, promotions, and product visibility.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams for campaign planning and content strategy.
  • Optimize catalog and listing quality for enhanced discoverability and

conversion.

  • Performance Management:
  • Own the P&L for the category and deliver on revenue, profit, and inventory turnover KPIs.
  • Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, and conversion data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Monitor and reduce returns, cancellations, and out-of-stock rates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain, finance, marketing, and product teams to ensure smooth execution of category plans.
  • Drive alignment across teams for promotional campaigns and new product launches.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 6 to 11 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying in the e-commerce or retail industry.

  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in Excel, analytics tools, and category dashboards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment with a data-driven mindset.
