Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities

📘 Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and assist with month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports using tools like

  QuickBooks Online

  ,

  Sage

  , or

  Xero

  .

💼 Payroll & WCB Management

• Process payroll for Canadian employees, ensuring accurate wage calculations, statutory deductions (CPP, EI, Income Tax), and remittances.
• Maintain payroll records and resolve employee queries.
• Ensure compliance with

  Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

  guidelines and provincial employment standards.
• Prepare and file

  ROEs

  , and other statutory reports.
• Administer

  Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)

  filings across provinces (e.g., WSIB in Ontario, WorkSafeBC in British Columbia, WCB Alberta).
• Track and report insurable earnings, manage WCB premium calculations, and support claims documentation.

🤝 Client Support

• Deliver responsive and professional client service across time zones.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and external stakeholders for compliance and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience:

  Minimum 1 year in Canadian bookkeeping, payroll, and WCB reporting.

• Technical Proficiency:

• Hands-on experience with

  QuickBooks Online

  , or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with
