Role Summary

Providence is seeking a hands-on and strategic Campus Manager to act as the custodian of the campus infrastructure. In this mid-senior level role, the Campus Manager will ensure that college operations function efficiently and effectively. The incumbent will serve as the primary authority for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the facilities, ensuring that students and staff experience a seamless environment on campus.

This role requires a leader who manages not just repairs, but the overall environment where students build their futures.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

A. Facilities & Infrastructure Maintenance

• Oversees the upkeep of all campus buildings (Einstein, Raman, and Kalam Centres, Newton Hall, Hostels) and grounds.
• Manages and supervises the daily schedules of the maintenance team, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and painters.
• Conducts regular campus inspections to identify and address preventative maintenance needs before they escalate into urgent issues.
• Ensures the reliability of critical utilities, including power, water supply, internet connectivity infrastructure, and generators.

B. Security & Safety Management

• Directly supervises the security team to ensure the 24/7 safety of the campus, students, and assets.
• Manages gate protocols and monitors traffic movement within the campus.
• Oversees emergency response protocols and ensures compliance with fire safety regulations.

C. Liaison & External Relations

• Serves as the primary point of contact for local government bodies, including the Panchayat and Municipality, ensuring all operational compliances and permits remain current.
• Manages relationships with external suppliers of goods and services and negotiates contracts to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

D. Team Leadership & Resource Management

• Fosters a culture of respect, efficiency, and accountability among the support staff.
• Manages inventory for maintenance supplies to ensure tools and materials are available when needed while minimizing wastage.
• Collaborates with the HR and Accounts departments to track labor hours and process expenses for the operations team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Engineers or experienced diploma holders will have a distinct advantage.
• Experience: 5–8 years of experience in facility management, estate management, or campus administration.
• Language: Fluency in Malayalam and English is mandatory for effective liaison with local authorities and support staff management.
• Skills: Strong vendor negotiation skills, technical understanding of electrical and plumbing systems, and proven leadership capabilities.
