Role Overview: As the Business Unit Head for the concentrated soft drinks division of a diverse FMCG conglomerate, you will be responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the unit. Your role will involve overseeing various business functions such as production, sales, marketing, supply chain, quality, and compliance. Your primary focus will be on driving growth, profitability, innovation, and operational excellence in alignment with the company's long-term objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute the business unit strategy in line with the company's vision. - Identify growth opportunities in domestic and international markets for soft drink concentrates. - Lead product innovation and portfolio diversification to meet consumer preferences and regulatory standards. - Manage P&L responsibility to ensure profitability and sustainable growth. - Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, and operational efficiency. - Ensure consistent product quality, taste, and compliance with food safety standards. - Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives. - Monitor raw material procurement for cost optimization and quality control. - Drive sales strategy for both B2B and B2C channels. - Build strong customer and distributor relationships to expand market presence. - Develop pricing, branding, and promotional strategies tailored to regional markets. - Ensure timely procurement, production, and distribution of concentrates to key partners. - Strengthen logistics and supply chain efficiency to minimize lead times and costs. - Develop export opportunities and manage national/international distribution channels. - Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for the unit. - Ensure compliance with food safety laws, labelling regulations, and environmental standards. - Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality. - Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional teams. - Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation. - Implement training and development programs for workforce capability enhancement. Qualification Required: - Bachelors/Masters degree in Business Administration, preferably with Food Technology or related field. - 18-25 years of experience in FMCG/beverage/food manufacturing, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role. - Proven track record of P&L management and business growth. - Strong knowledge of beverage formulations, concentrates, and regulatory frameworks. - Expertise in operations management, sales leadership, and supply chain management. - Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in Africa.
