The
Business Transformation Consultant – People & Talent (HR Reinvention)
will be a senior member of the
Strategy & Transformation practice
within IBM Consulting. The role combines
business development, client delivery leadership, and practice building
across the HR and Talent transformation spectrum.The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise across
HR strategy, organization design, change management, learning, performance, total rewards, and digital HR platforms
, coupled with the ability to drive
end-to-end transformation programs
that align people, process, and technology to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Client Advisory
- Lead and support business development activities, including proposal development, client presentations, and solution design for HR transformation engagements.
- Partner with client CXOs, CHROs, and HR leadership to define transformation roadmaps and articulate the value proposition of IBM’s People & Talent offerings.
- Build trusted relationships with key clients and contribute to account growth and practice expansion initiatives.
- Strategy & Operating Model Design
- Design future-ready HR operating models aligned with business strategy, workforce trends, and digital imperatives.
- Redefine HR service delivery models (Shared Services, CoEs, Business Partnering) to enhance agility, scalability, and experience.
- Conduct HR maturity assessments, capability benchmarking, and operating model diagnostics.
- HR Process & Technology Transformation
- Lead end-to-end transformation programs across hire-to-retire processes, integrating HR technology, analytics, and automation.
- Drive HR technology enablement across platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM, ServiceNow, and related ecosystems.
- Enable digitally integrated HR landscapes, ensuring seamless data flows, employee experience, and governance frameworks.
- Organization Design, Change & Capability Building
- Design and implement organization structures, role frameworks, and competency models that support business growth and agility.
- Lead change management, communication, and learning interventions to drive adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Partner with leadership on culture transformation, leadership development, and future-skills enablement.
- Program Delivery & Governance
- Oversee program delivery across multiple workstreams - from design through implementation - ensuring on-time, high-quality outcomes.
- Define business cases, KPIs, and value realization frameworks to measure and sustain impact.
- Ensure robust program governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
- Practice Development
- Contribute to the People & Talent Center of Excellence, developing accelerators, frameworks, and thought leadership.
- Mentor junior consultants and foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Represent IBM in external forums and HR transformation networks.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in HR consulting, transformation, or enterprise HR leadership, with exposure across the HR value chain (Workforce Strategy, Org Design, Talent, L&D, Change, Rewards, HR Tech).
- Technical & Functional Breadth: Strong intersectional expertise between HR technology platforms and traditional HR domains (Change, OD, Rewards, Performance, L&D).
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of HR operating models and digital HR ecosystems
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-geography transformation programs
- Strong consulting, problem-solving, and executive communication skills
- Experience in business development and pre-sales will be highly valued
- Preferred, but not mandatory – some work experience with Global Capability Centers (GCCs) / Shared Services Centers
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Education: MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a top-tier HR institute such as IINM, XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, XIM, or equivalent.( XLRI, TISS, XIM preferred.
