Job Title: Business Head – Growth & Expansion

We operate across perishable and non-perishable categories, catering to both retail and institutional buyers through a hybrid e-commerce and bulk model.

Our digital platform delivers GI-tagged, farm-fresh products to homes across India, while our B2B strategy serves hotels, retailers, and wellness brands. Our dual D2C and B2B approach empowers farmers, optimizes logistics, and scales rural-urban commerce.

Role Summary

As the Vertical Head – Growth, you’ll lead a core business vertical and own its revenue, market reach, product expansion, and retention outcomes. This is a high-ownership role for results-driven professionals who can deliver ROI from day one. You’ll have full autonomy to define strategies, make business decisions, and lead execution.

The ideal candidate is adept at the entire business development cycle—from lead generation to conversion—with strong digital, marketing, and analytics skills. Comfort with both digital platforms and on-ground operations is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

1. Growth Strategy & Execution

  • Build a complete growth roadmap for the vertical
  • Identify high-potential markets and products
  • Scale subscription and B2B models
  • Lead pricing, product innovation, and performance optimisation

2. New Product Development

  • Launch SKUs aligned with health, heritage, and sustainability
  • Own product lifecycle from research to go-to-market
  • Travel for vendor onboarding and quality assurance

3. Revenue Growth & P&L

  • Meet revenue and profit goals
  • Improve product-market fit using data
  • Launch bundles and seasonal campaigns

4. Customer Retention

  • Personalize post-purchase experience
  • Increase loyalty through retention programs

5. Farmer & Vendor Network Expansion

  • Onboard rural producers
  • Ensure quality sourcing and fair trade

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead a mini cross-functional team
  • Act as the bridge between strategy and ground execution

7. Quick Commerce Supply Expansion

  • Onboard and manage supply on platforms like Instamart, Blinkit, BigBasket, Zepto
  • Curate SKUs, sync inventory, and ensure rapid fulfillment

8. Growth Metrics / KPIs

Success in this role will be measured through well-defined and tangible performance indicators across sales, customer engagement, product expansion, and operational excellence. Your Growth will be accountable for tracking and delivering on the following key metrics:

  • Revenue Growth: Percentage increase in monthly and quarterly revenue generation.
  • Sales Channel Performance: Growth in sales through our own e-commerce portal as well as marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, etc.
  • New Customer Acquisition: Number of new customers acquired across D2C and B2B channels.
  • Customer Retention: Rate of repeat purchases, subscription renewals, and overall customer lifetime value.
  • New Product Development: Number of new SKUs developed and successfully launched in health, GI-tagged, and sustainable categories.
  • Quick Commerce Supply Expansion: Onboarding and scaling supply partnerships with B2B quick commerce platforms like Instamart, Bigbasket, Blinkit, etc.
  • Digital Performance: Website traffic, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and social media engagement.
  • Subscription Scale: Growth in monthly and annual subscribers onboarded through bundled and recurring product offerings.
  • B2B & Institutional Sales Expansion: Scaling of bulk sales to hotels, wellness brands, retailers, and institutional buyers.
  • Farmer & Vendor Engagement: Number of active farmers, artisans, and sourcing partners onboarded and retained.
  • Operational Efficiency: Metrics such as average delivery turnaround time (TAT), order fulfillment rate, and product return rate.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5+ years in business development, FMCG, food retail, or AgriTech
  • Strong grasp of D2C and B2B sales models
  • Proven success managing P&L and scaling growth programs
  • Experience in rural sourcing and last-mile delivery is a plus

Compensation & Incentives

In addition to a competitive salary, this role includes a performance-based incentive plan linked to growth targets, revenue milestones, and strategic impact. Exceptional performers may also be considered for equity or profit-sharing as part of Villkart’s leadership growth strategy.

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
