Role & Responsibilities


Business Head – Agri Implements


Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Market Development


  • Conduct in-depth

    market research and competitor benchmarking

    (domestic & global) to identify high-potential products and geographies (India, Africa, Latin America, EU, USA).
  • Decide which

    markets to tap

    , product categories to develop (e.g., box blade scrapers, rotavators, cultivators, planters, etc.), and define

    go-to-market strategy

    .
  • Lead the creation of a

    global-ready agri implements catalog

    with export-focus in mind.
  • Identify gaps in the

    tractor implements space

    and launch future-ready solutions.



New Product Development & Engineering


  • Lead

    product design, prototyping, testing, and validation

    of all agri implements using industry-standard norms (ASABE, BIS, etc.).
  • Guide the internal engineering team in

    adapting SAN’s sheet metal and fabrication capabilities

    to design and produce durable, functional implements.
  • Collaborate with tooling & manufacturing teams for

    DFA/DFM optimization

    and cost-efficiency.


Sourcing & Vendor Development


  • Create

    sourcing strategies

    for non-core (BOP) items like gearboxes, shafts, bearings, fasteners, blades, etc.
  • Identify and qualify reliable vendors and develop

    local + global vendor base

    for critical bought-outs.
  • Ensure

    cost-effective BOM planning

    for target pricing in export markets.


Leadership & Team Building


  • Build a cross-functional team covering

    R&D, Sourcing, Production, Quality, Sales, and Marketing

    for the implements business.
  • Establish SOPs and internal systems for

    project tracking, cost control, product quality

    , and

    delivery timelines

    .
  • Act as the

    bridge between top management and on-ground execution

    ; reporting progress, challenges, and long-term strategic planning.


Sales, Exhibitions & Branding


  • Define product branding, packaging, and catalog strategies.
  • Identify and participate in

    key global agri exhibitions

    (Agritechnica, EIMA, etc.) and domestic trade shows.
  • Build partnerships with

    dealers, distributors, and importers

    in target markets.
  • Setup initial

    distribution strategy for aftermarket and OEM clients

    in India and abroad.



Preferred Candidate Profile


  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Agri Engineering. MBA (preferred but not mandatory).
  • 10–20 years of experience

    in the

    agri implements or tractor attachments

    industry.
  • Deep knowledge of

    product development

    , field applications, and customer pain points in farming.
  • Experience with both

    domestic and export markets

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    manufacturing processes, BOP sourcing

    , and cost optimization.
  • Proven track record of

    taking products from concept to commercialization

    .
  • Leadership experience in building cross-functional teams and working with senior management.
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial, and driven to

    build a new vertical from scratch

    .
  • Must have

    excellent communication skills

    , global exposure, and

    a vision to build a globally competitive business

    .
