Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven business Development Executive to lead the development and commercialization of carbon credit projects and climate change mitigation solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, building partnerships, and navigating voluntary and compliance carbon markets based on generated carbon credits.

You’ll play a key role in scaling our impact by driving revenue and helping build a portfolio of high-quality, nature-based, renewable energy, or industrial carbon offset projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Sourcing & Origination

Identify and evaluate carbon credit project opportunities (REDD+, reforestation, afforestation, renewable energy, biochar, cookstoves, etc.)

Partnership Development

Build and manage relationships with project developers, landowners, NGOs, and technology partners.

Market & Policy Analysis

Stay up-to-date with carbon market trends, regulatory frameworks (VERRA, Gold Standard, GCC, CORSIA etc.), and emerging methodologies.

Proposal & Deal Structuring

Lead proposal development, business case creation, and structuring of carbon credit purchases, project financing, and revenue-sharing models.

Carbon Asset Commercialization

Work with internal and external teams to structure forward sales, spot market deals, and long-term offtake agreements for carbon credits.

Due Diligence & Risk Assessment

Conduct technical, financial, and environmental due diligence of prospective projects.

Cross-functional Coordination

Collaborate with technical, legal, sustainability, and finance teams to bring projects from concept to execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, MBA, Climate Policy, Sustainability, or related field.

2-4 years of experience in carbon markets, sustainability consulting, renewable energy, or climate finance.

Strong understanding of carbon credit project methodologies and certification standards.

Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and close deals in the climate or environmental sector.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience (Bonus):

Experience working with carbon registries (VERRA, Gold Standard, GCC etc.)

Familiarity with ESG investing, Articles of the Paris Agreement, or corporate decarbonization strategies.

Network of project developers, carbon buyers, or climate investors.
