Job title: Business Associate
Reports to:
Chief of Staff
Location:
Bangalore (Work from office - 5 days a week)
Role Overview
You will act as the right-hand to the Chief of Staff / Business Head — owning execution, follow-up, governance, reporting and growth / program-level workstreams. You will manage cross-functional initiatives from inception to closure, maintain central financial and operational checks, build discipline around internal processes, and support strategic growth and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Program & Project Execution: Lead internal programs and special projects end-to-end — coordinate across teams, track progress, drive follow-ups, and ensure timely closure.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Reviews: Prepare regular (weekly / periodic) decks, dashboards and status reports for leadership reviews; consolidate updates across functions; highlight risks, bottlenecks and propose next steps.
- Growth & Business-Building Workstreams: Support growth initiatives, pilots, process improvements, or new vertical experiments. Translate strategy into actionable plans and drive execution.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Interface with multiple teams (operations, finance, product, growth, content, etc.), collate inputs, ensure alignment, manage dependencies and drive smooth collaboration.
- Process Design & Continuous Improvement: Build and document standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, governance frameworks — ensure efficiency, clarity and accountability as business scales.
- Ad-hoc / Special Projects: Take ownership of urgent or high-impact tasks as assigned — be flexible to jump across domains depending on business priority.
Candidate Profile / Requirements
- MBA (or equivalent) from a top / Tier-1 business school in India (top-ranked management institutes)
- 2+ years of work-experience post-MBA, ideally in operations, business-ops, project management, or similar roles in a dynamic / fast-paced environment.
- Highly execution oriented, with strong bias for follow-through and delivery — able to own projects independently and drive them to completion.
- Strong analytical skills, comfort with numbers, basic financial understanding, and ability to manage budgets, expenses, and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and coordination skills — capable of synthesizing inputs from multiple teams and packaging into clean reports/decks.
- Proactive mindset — self-starter, problem-solver, able to anticipate needs or gaps without being hand-held.
- Organized, structured, detail-oriented, with capability to set up processes and maintain discipline even under ambiguity / evolving requirements.
- Collaborative yet independent — comfortable working across functions, but also capable of owning deliverables end-to-end.
What Success Looks Like
You’ll be considered successful when programs and projects you manage consistently meet timelines and deliverables with high quality. Financial and operational governance remains tight — budgets tracked, expenses controlled, audits (if any) pass smoothly. Reports and decks you deliver enable leadership to take informed decisions — status updates are clear, risks are highlighted, progress is visible. Growth or experiment workstreams you lead should show measurable traction — improved processes, new initiatives launched, cost or time efficiencies, or early business impact. And as we scale, your efforts to build robust processes and operate as a reliable “glue” across teams help maintain clarity, coordination, and execution discipline.
