Job Description

The Box Office Incharge is responsible for overseeing all ticketing operations at the cinema, ensuring smooth and efficient service for guests. This role includes supervising box office staff, managing cash transactions, coordinating with online ticketing platforms, maintaining reports, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:1. Ticketing Operations

  • Manage daily box office operations, including counter sales and online bookings.
  • Ensure accurate issuance of movie tickets and compliance with cinema policies.
  • Monitor and update show timings, seat availability, and promotions in the POS system.
  • Coordinate with the Duty Manager for smooth start of shows and seat control.

2. Cash & Reconciliation

  • Supervise all financial transactions at the box office, including cash, card, and online payments.
  • Ensure proper billing and provide receipts for all sales.
  • Conduct end-of-day cash reconciliation and prepare daily collection reports.
  • Deposit cash securely and maintain accountability for all transactions.

3. Staff Supervision

  • Schedule and supervise box office staff shifts and counters.
  • Train new staff on ticketing software, SOPs, and customer service.
  • Monitor staff performance, grooming, and discipline.
  • Ensure adequate manpower during peak hours and movie releases.

4. Customer Service

  • Handle customer inquiries, seat preferences, and booking issues politely and efficiently.
  • Resolve complaints or escalate them to the Duty Manager when needed.
  • Ensure smooth guest flow during entry, intermissions, and exits.
  • Promote combo offers, memberships, or loyalty programs when applicable.

5. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with the Operations, IT, and Marketing teams for ticketing updates or promotions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly ticket sales reports.
  • Ensure data accuracy for occupancy, revenue, and category-wise performance.
  • Support internal audits and compliance checks.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate in Commerce / Hospitality / Management.
  • 2–4 years of experience in cinema, retail, or hospitality front office operations.
  • Proficiency in ticketing software (e.g., Vista, TicketNew, BookMyShow, etc.).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and numerical skills.
  • Cash handling experience and high level of integrity.
  • Customer-oriented approach with problem-solving ability.
