AutoCAD Draughtsman

The AutoCAD Draftsman will be responsible for preparing accurate survey drawings, site plans, and layouts based on raw field data collected by survey teams. This role requires expertise in drafting, attention to detail, and familiarity with land survey standards, ensuring deliverables meet project and legal requirements. Key Responsibilities: Prepare survey drawings from raw field data including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, layout plans, and as-built drawings. Convert GIS/KML data to CAD format and integrate survey points into AutoCAD. Draft plot subdivisions, site plans, and contour maps based on survey reports. Collaborate with surveyors to verify field measurements, coordinate geometry (COGO), and benchmarks. Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements. Maintain an organized CAD library of blocks, layers, and templates specific to land surveying. Generate area calculations, dimensioning of parcels, and prepare drawings for statutory submissions. Support project teams by updating drawings during design changes and ensuring proper version control. Export CAD files to required formats (PDF, DWG, DXF) for client and internal use. Stay updated on latest AutoCAD features, survey drafting techniques, and local survey regulations. Skills & Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting); knowledge of Civil 3D or similar software is an added advantage. Familiarity with land survey principles, property boundaries, and legal descriptions. Ability to read and interpret survey data, field notes, and GIS information. Strong understanding of layers, plotting, and drawing standards. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with survey teams. Time management and ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects. Preferred Experience: 1–3 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting for land survey projects (freshers with training in survey drafting may also be considered). Experience in topographic mapping, site layouts, and subdivision drafting. Knowledge of local land survey codes and standards. Basic understanding of GPS, Total Station data, and point cloud imports is a plus. Key Deliverables: Accurate DWG files with proper layers, scales, and legends. Plot area statements and survey reports. Submission-ready layout plans for approvals. Timely updates and revisions to project drawings.
