Role summary
Align is currently seeking an
Associate Software Engineer, ServiceNow
to join our Digital Workplace Technology & Operations organization. In this role, you will help bridge development and operations, transforming manual processes into automated, efficient workflows for platform services. This position will vary in the scope of project responsibilities; however generally this position will focus on
building and maintaining automated pipelines, integrate tools, and develop features
on the ServiceNow platform, focusing on CI/CD, scripting (JS/Python), cloud/API integrations, testing, and agile delivery to speed up software releases while ensuring platform stability, security, and scalability for enterprise users.

CI/CD Automation and Infrastructure Support
- CI/CD & Automation: Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools such as GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Infrastructure Automation: Support development and operations teams in automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment (Infrastructure as Code) using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Development Support: Write/debug JavaScript (Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies) and potentially Python/Shell scripts for automation.
- Testing & Deployment: Participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and help deploy code to different environments.
Platform And Integration Support
- Platform Support: Help with system administration, user management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting issues on the platform.
- Integrations: Support in developing and implementing integrations between ServiceNow and various third-party platforms, applications, and systems, using OOB plugins, REST/SOAP API methods, Integration Hub, and other modern integration techniques.
- Versatile Development: Adapt development efforts to meet varied project requirements across different ServiceNow modules and applications.
- Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and participate in incident resolution to ensure high availability and reliability of applications and services.
Documentation And Continuous Improvement
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for processes and solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on latest features in ServiceNow and latest trends and advancements in DevOps, cloud computing, and automation technologies.
What We're Looking For
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and DevOps principles.
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Bash).
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Awareness of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (certifications are a plus).
- Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and basic system administration tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)
- Exposure to advanced CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks and automation platforms (academic or personal projects).
- Experience in developing integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or ServiceNow (CSA, CAD) certifications is a plus.
