Associate Software Engineer, ServiceNow

Role Summary Align Technology is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in ServiceNow to join the Digital Workplace Experience (DWE) organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform, especially enhancing and integrating the ESC Portal user interface and overall user experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party platforms using out-of-the-box plugins, APIs, REST/SOAP web services, and custom connectors. Design, build, and maintain user interfaces for HR Service Delivery and other web applications on the ServiceNow platform using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, and other web technologies. Develop custom workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, transform maps, and other ServiceNow components. Write server-side scripts with optimized GlideRecord methods to ensure efficient processing. Enforce software engineering best practices including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve integration and platform issues; perform system testing to ensure solution stability. Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, developers, analysts, and process owners to design and implement solutions. Stay current with ServiceNow platform enhancements, industry trends, and integration technologies, advising on platform upgrades and new integrations. Document procedures to support knowledge sharing and future maintenance. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5 to 7 years of software development experience focused on ServiceNow platform development and integrations. Strong proficiency with ServiceNow development tools including UI policies, client scripts, business rules, workflows, UI pages, UI scripts, and macros. Experience with ESC Pro Portal development. Skilled in integration techniques with external systems such as SaaS, IaaS, legacy on-premises apps, and databases using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML. Proficient in JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, AngularJS. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for complex integration issues. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist are highly desirable. Additional/Preferred Skills UX design knowledge including wireframing, prototyping, and responsive design. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation. Quick adaptability to new technologies and evolving requirements.
