Associate Manager - Accounting

Responsibilities Job title: Associate Manager - Accounting (T6) Indicative years of experience: 10-12 years Shift Time - The team is working in US Central time and so the expectation is for the person to operate between 6PM to 3AM IST Role Description This role is part of Enterprise Financial Services(EFS) team that provides accounting support and solutions to Principal Financial Group. EFS consists of processes like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General ledger (Reconciliations and Journals support), Reporting, Tax, Control & Compliance. This role will lead an 15-20 FTE ESOP Specialty services team and will be responsible for Day to day operations , KPI /SLAs management, Monthly governance, transition/change management, operation excellence, drive industry best practices. Reporting Relationship This role will report into Associate Director - Accounting Key Responsibilities Process Manage operations related to Coordinate and support Key quarterly and annual activities Perform critical review of key processes, reports and validations Ensure quality control over all transactions and reports Support and coordinate with onshore teams Manage and plan transitions Besides technical process support drive and improve process level SLA/KPIs People Development and career planning of the teams under their purview Develop and implement reward and recognition programs within the BU. Drive employee morale and satisfaction Attrition management and ensure timely recruitment and training of team members Work closely to drive team spirit. Communicate, influence and enforce consistent processes and policies across teams Special projects/ initiative Lead special projects/initiatives within the BU as well as engage in cross -BU initiatives. Stakeholder relationship management Manage relationship and drive governance with Interface with our US counterparts on a regular basis Escalate issues which need their intervention. Exchange ideas and share best practices. The team is working in US Central time and so the expectation is for the person to operate between 6PM to 3AM IST Qualifications The essential skills for this would include 10-12 years of experience in an offshore finance and accounting function Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Excellent proven technical accounting skills Leadership skills and ability to inspire the team, Experience in offshore setup will be added advantage.
