Legal Compliance & Public Affairs

This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Assistant Vice President/ Senior Manager – Legal Compliance


We will count on you to:

  • Draft, review, negotiate and finalize contracts and related documents for the procurement or provision of goods and services, confidentiality of proprietary information, personal data privacy, sub-contracting, outsourcing, leases of space and equipment, employment, and software licenses.
  • Manage contract administration and contract life cycle including review, negotiate and finalize a range of contracts with internal and external stakeholders including engagement letters, master services agreement, statement of work, vendor contracts, service contracts, lease contract, MOUs, consulting agreements, insurer contracts, inter company agreements,
  • Assist in structuring transactions to align with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in creating and updating playbooks and standard templates for existing and new business requirements basis regulatory requirements.
  • Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to the senior management team and develop legal strategies and solutions, often in situations of high risk with limited time for assessing alternatives.
  • Provide analysis and counsel on a range of legal issues, including corporate issues, business structures and models, M&A, property related issues, employment issues, insurance and reinsurance.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing emerging changes in legislative & regulatory landscape impacting business and take corrective action including creation of new processes and systems.
  • Engage outside counsel on complex legal issues, and supervise and coordinate all work sent to external law firms
  • Assist with trainings for client facing colleagues from time to time on legal ways of working, legal and regulatory risks and Company policies.
  • Monitor contract performance, analyze data to identify trends and generate reports on key metrics and milestones.
  • Assist in recommending solutions for improving contract management workflows and implementation of solutions.


What you need to have:

  • 10+ years of in-house and/or large law firm experience.
  • Experience working in an MNC in India
  • Knowledge of general corporate law and insurance law.
  • Experience handling high volume of contract review, drafting and negotiation.
  • Experience handling employment and litigation matters
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Effective Team Player.
