Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Welding & Casting Equipment Department: Maintenance / Engineering Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth functioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown rectification of welding and casting equipment used in manufacturing processes, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of welding and casting equipment to ensure minimal downtime. Hands-on experience in maintenance of spot welding guns (manual and robotic). Maintenance and troubleshooting of electropneumatic welding fixtures used in body shop or production lines. Maintenance of robotic welding systems, including diagnosing and repairing robot arms, controllers, and associated peripherals. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Manage spares inventory for welding and casting equipment. Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure equipment meets operational and quality standards. Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and service logs. Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all equipment complies with safety standards. Technical Skills Required: Maintenance of spot welding guns (both manual and robotic). Experience in robotic maintenance (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA or similar preferred). Knowledge of electropneumatic fixtures, hydraulics, and sensors used in welding processes. Understanding of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Spot Welding, Arc Welding, and Casting Equipment. Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting will be an advantage. Behavioral Skills: Strong problem-solving ability. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure in shift operations. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance. Qualifications: Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines. Experience:3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in maintenance of welding equipment, robotic systems, and casting machinery in manufacturing industries (automotive, heavy engineering, fabrication, etc.).
