Job Description

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Team Leader to support supplier quality activities in India. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product quality, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Evaluation & Selection

  • Help assess new suppliers for quality capabilities.
  • Support supplier audits and qualification.
  • Work with procurement and engineering to choose reliable suppliers.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure suppliers follow required quality standards.
  • Track supplier performance using key metrics.
  • Keep records ready for audits and reviews.

Supplier Documentation Management

  • Lead the supplier documentation team to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Maintain and review supplier quality records, certificates, and compliance documents.
  • Ensure documentation meets internal and external audit requirements.

Problem Solving & Improvement

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work with suppliers on improvement plans.
  • Help develop supplier capabilities.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with sourcing, procurement, engineering, and production teams.
  • Support new product launches by checking supplier readiness.
  • Share quality expectations with suppliers.

Reporting

  • Prepare basic reports on supplier quality.
  • Highlight risks and trends in supplier performance.
  • Use data to support decisions.

Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO, PED, API).
  • Experience in supplier audits and problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Process & Project Skills

  • Experience in improving supplier performance.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Good communication with suppliers and internal teams.

Digital Skills

  • Basic knowledge of ERP or quality software.
  • Able to create reports using MS tools.

Global Awareness

  • Experience working with international suppliers is a plus.
  • Understanding of cultural differences in supplier management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7–12 years of experience in manufacturing or supplier quality.
  • Foundry experience is a plus.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Good English communication skills.
