Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Manager- Procurement (Raw Materials-Cables) located in Ahmedabad. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement processes. The role involves analytical tasks to assess procurement data and improve efficiency. Additionally, the Assistant Manager will manage contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Raw Material Procurement:

Lead procurement activities for key raw materials such as Copper, Aluminium, PVC, XLPE, and other

cable-grade materials.

• Vendor Development & Management:

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers. Maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent

quality and timely delivery.

• Cost Optimization:

Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.

• Market Intelligence:

Monitor commodity trends (e.g., LME prices), assess market risks, and provide insights for strategic

decision-making.

• Inventory & Logistics Coordination:

Collaborate with stores and logistics teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely material

availability.

• Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory

requirements.

• Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with production, quality, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business

objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

B.E. / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial preferred)

• Experience:

Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in raw material procurement, preferably in the cable

manufacturing industry.

Skills:

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Proficiency in ERP (SAP) systems and MS Office
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of import/export procedures is a plus
