IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITK DF) is a Section 8, not-for-profit company established by IIT Kanpur to engage with external stakeholders, including Alumni, corporations, Foundations, and Philanthropists in India and across the globe. The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to support the Institute’s long-term growth. Such development offices are a key feature in globally reputed universities and typically maintain a staffing ratio of 1 for every 1,000 alumni.

IITK DF seeks to appoint a database management leader and a change agent as defined below:

Position: Assistant Manager - Database

Location: IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITK DF), Kanpur

Reporting to: Vice President- Operations

Responsibilities and Expectations

1. Alumni Data Management: Clean, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources to enrich and maintain alumni records.
2. Database Oversight: Ensure the alumni database is consistently updated, integrated, and optimised with the latest tools and enhancements.
3. LinkedIn Tracking: Regularly update alumni professional and demographic data using LinkedIn and other platforms.
4. Campaign Execution: Lead data update initiatives through email, WhatsApp, and other engagement channels.
5. Data Segmentation: Create and manage data sets and segments tailored to organisational needs and cross-functional data requirements.
6. Insights & Reporting: Translate complex data into clear reports and actionable insights.
7. CRM Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with Zoho CRM/ Salesforce or similar CRM is an advantage.

Desired Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 3–4 years in database management with experience in executing complex data projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for data visualisation.

Soft Skills:

• Awareness about data protection, combined with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and energised by start-up culture.
• Certifications (Preferred): Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent credentials.
