Assistant Accountant

Location: Kachna, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Responsibilities:

· Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.

· Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

· Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and collection efforts.

· Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.

· Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

· Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

· Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

· Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

· Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting principles, tax laws, and industry best practices.

· Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

GST Compliance:

· Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) accurately and on time.

· Ensure proper input tax credit (ITC) utilization and reconciliation with GSTR-2A/2B.

· Handle GST refunds and address any GST-related queries or discrepancies.

· Stay updated with the latest GST laws, rules, and notifications.

TDS Compliance:

· Calculate and deduct TDS as per applicable provisions (e.g., salary, professional fees, rent).

· Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ) accurately and on time.

· Generate and distribute TDS certificates (Form 16A, 16) to vendors/employees.

· Reconcile TDS payable with general ledger balances.

· Stay updated with the latest TDS laws and amendments.

Reconciliations:

· Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations.

· Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers with the general ledger.

· Conduct inter-company reconciliations, if applicable.

· Reconcile various balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

· Investigate and resolve any reconciliation differences promptly.

General Accounting:

· Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and financial data entry.

· Support in the preparation of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) as needed.

· Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

· Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.

· Assist with other finance-related tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Approximately 4 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.

· Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant Indian accounting standards.

· Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP 9,).

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling).

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹480,000.00 per year
