Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) to oversee our pharmaceutical sales operations in South Gujarat. The ASM will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing a team of Medical Representatives, and expanding the customer base across the assigned geography. This role requires strong leadership, deep market knowledge, and a hands-on approach to fieldwork. Key Responsibilities: Sales Execution: Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Plan and implement strategies to increase product penetration and market share. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a team of Medical Representatives (MRs). Conduct regular field visits, joint working, and performance reviews. Motivate the team through goal setting, coaching, and performance management. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, chemists, stockists, and hospitals. Conduct CMEs, product presentations, and awareness programs as needed. Territory Management: Monitor and optimize coverage, frequency of visits, and route planning. Ensure timely reporting of sales data and market feedback. Compliance & Administration: Ensure team adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines. Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and other departments for smooth operations. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Science/Pharmacy; MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus. 5–8 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role. In-depth knowledge of the South Gujarat market. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights. Proficiency in CRM tools and basic computer applications. Preferred Attributes: Experience in managing specialty or chronic therapy portfolios. Local language fluency (Gujarati) preferred.
