Area In Charge - Scrap Segregation Plant - Copper

Purpose/Objective

To lead and manage the entire Scrap Segregation Plant, ensuring all operational, maintenance, and quality objectives are met safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the plant, including production targets, budget management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Operational leadership:Oversee all plant operations, including scrap reception, segregation, shredding, and baling processes. Ensure production targets are consistently met while optimizing resource utilization. Strategic planning:Develop and execute the plant’s annual and long-term business plans, aligning them with the company’s strategic goals. Identify and implement projects for capacity expansion, process optimization, and technological upgrades. Team management:Lead, mentor, and manage the entire plant team, including Deputy Managers and Associate Managers across operations, mechanical, and E&I functions. Foster a culture of accountability and high performance. Budget and cost management:Develop, manage, and monitor the plant’s annual budget. Drive cost-reduction initiatives and ensure financial performance meets or exceeds targets. Safety, health, and environment (SHE):Champion a robust safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to all SHE policies and regulations. Conduct safety audits, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions. Stakeholder management:Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgical). An MBA or a Master’s degree in a relevant field is highly desirable. Experience:12+ years of extensive experience in a heavy manufacturing or process industry, with a significant portion in a leadership role overseeing plant operations. Experience in a metals or recycling facility is a strong advantage. Skills:Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills. Deep understanding of plant operations, maintenance, and quality systems. Certifications:Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification is highly valued for driving continuous improvement.
