Job Description – Design Coordinator (Architecture)


Project Location: Bengaluru Airport

Department: PMC – Design

Role: Architect / Design Coordinator

Experience: 5–10 years (Airport project experience preferred)

Qualification: B.Arch.


Role Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Design Coordinator (Architecture) to support design management, consultant coordination, and documentation for major infrastructure works at Bengaluru. The role involves leading design communication, ensuring compliance with company's QA/QC processes, and supporting seamless execution from concept through construction.


Key Responsibilities


Collaborate with internal project teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to achieve architectural design objectives.


Participate in preparing design studies, material recommendations, construction methods, and cost-related assessments.


Lead and coordinate mock-ups, look-and-feel reviews, and design presentation exercises.


Manage the scheduling, documentation, and maintenance of all architectural design files and coordination logs.


Ensure strict adherence to Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.


Prepare monthly design coordination reports and ensure timely project documentation.


Manage the design and submittal processes during pre-construction phases.


Review, comment, and track consultant submissions, including GFC drawings.


Coordinate with consultants for concept, schematic, detailed, and GFC drawings.


Support day-to-day coordination between design teams, site execution teams, and contractors.


Organize and participate in design coordination meetings and technical workshops.


Execute design-related tasks assigned by Turner management as and when required.


Ensure accurate MIS reporting for all design and construction-related activities on a monthly basis.


Required Skills


Strong capability to manage and coordinate large-scale architectural projects.


Solid understanding of urban design principles and concept development.


Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


Strong decision-making abilities and capability to handle design challenges.


Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.


Excellent documentation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.


Networking skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.


Preferred Experience


Experience in pre-construction and design coordination activities.


Previous experience working on airport, aviation, or major infrastructure projects.


Strong familiarity with architectural specifications, codes, QA/QC processes, and BIM-oriented workflows (an added advantage).
