Powered by a robust HIPAA-compliant backend, our Android-based platform integrates 30–65+ FDA/CE/CDSCO-certified diagnostic devices—blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, ECG, glucose meters, digital stethoscopes, tele-consultation modules—and supports instant test results, live video consultations, prescription issuance, and multilingual reporting. We serve remote, rural, urban and institutional deployments across India and beyond.


Role Overview


We're seeking a talented Android Native Developer to take ownership of our HealthATM and HealthBAG mobile applications. You will design, build, and maintain robust, secure Android apps that interface with multiple medical IoT devices via Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, or serial protocols. You’ll collaborate with hardware, backend and QA teams to deliver seamless user experiences for operators, paramedics, and end patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Android application powering HealthATM kiosks (standing, wall mount) and HealthBAG devices.
  • Integrate with a wide range of Medical IoT devices (e.g. BP monitors, pulse oximeters, ECG, glucometers, stethoscope, otoscope, dermascope) using BLE, serial/USB, Wi-Fi.
  • Implement secure BLE/device drivers, device discovery, pairing, data capture, error handling, and retries.
  • Work closely with backend to implement real-time streaming of vital health data to HIPAA-compliant cloud services, tele-consultation APIs, and digital prescription workflows.
  • Implement real-time video-call interface for doctor consultation using Android SDK or third-party libs.
  • Ensure the app supports multilingual UI and works smoothly with low-bandwidth connectivity environments.
  • Optimize UI/UX for touchscreen kiosk mode, large-screen interfaces, and rugged hardware environments.
  • Implement local data caching and offline-first operation so testing can proceed without continuous internet.
  • Write automated unit/integration tests and support CI/CD for Android builds.
  • Store and manage local patient data with encryption and export via email/WhatsApp/SMS capabilities.
  • Collaborate with QA, operations, Tele-Medicine, backend, hardware teams for testing and field deployments.
  • Monitor app performance, crash/log reports, and iterate to improve reliability for field deployments.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–6 years of Android development experience, with at least 2 years in Kotlin and native Android SDK.
  • Solid experience integrating external hardware/IoT devices via BLE, USB-serial or Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with streaming data, multimedia, network calls, JSON/XML, encryption protocols.
  • Experience building apps for rugged or kiosk form-factors, multi-language support, and offline-first design.
  • Familiarity with tele-medicine/video conferencing integrations on Android.
  • Strong knowledge of Android architecture (MVVM / Clean Architecture), Jetpack components.
  • Understanding of data privacy/medical software regulations such as HIPAA, ABDM compliance.
  • Experience writing unit and UI tests, and using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.


Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Android NDK (C/C++) or JNI for low-level device integration.
  • Prior exposure to medical IoT ecosystems, POCT workflows, or diagnostics device data formats.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant apps or enterprise kiosk deployments.
  • Knowledge of cloud backends, Open API integrations, and health analytics dashboards.
  • Experience with AI-enabled health screening workflows or plugged-in sensor fusion.
