Job Description

The Assistant / Deputy Manager – Air Freight Procurement will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement of air freight services. The role involves supplier negotiation, cost optimization, ensuring service quality, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The candidate will play a key role in building vendor relationships, analyzing freight trends, and driving process improvements in the air freight vertical.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle air freight procurement for imports and exports.
  • Finalize freight rates and service agreements.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues (delays, damages, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with air cargo regulations and internal policies.
  • Work closely with logistics, planning, and finance teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate freight cost reports.
  • Keep updated on air freight market trends and pricing.


Requirements:

  • Education:

    Graduate in any field; MBA in logistics is a plus.

  • Experience:

    4–6 years in air freight, logistics, or freight forwarding.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
