Role Summary
As a Senior Associate in SAP PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) Support, you will be responsible for providing functional and technical support for PPDS solutions within client environments. The role involves managing incidents, analyzing recurring issues, ensuring system stability, and driving enhancements to improve planning and scheduling efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, client stakeholders, and offshore resources to deliver consistent, high-quality support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day production support for SAP PPDS processes, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of incidents.
- Monitor and maintain the stability of planning and scheduling processes, ensuring smooth execution of heuristics, planning runs, and order scheduling.
- Handle service requests, change requests, and enhancements in coordination with technical and business teams.
- Collaborate with integration modules such as MM, SD, PP, QM, and APO SNP to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Support CIF integration between ECC/S4 and APO/PPDS systems, ensuring data consistency for master data and transactional objects.
- Work with business users to understand issues, document requirements, and propose functional solutions aligned with business needs.
- Participate in release cycles, regression testing, and deployment activities to ensure smooth delivery of system changes.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles, SOPs, and playbooks for repetitive or known issues to drive process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with incident management SLAs and proactively communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure 24x7 system availability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in SAP PPDS support in S/4HANA or APO environments.
- Strong understanding of production planning concepts, master data (PDS, PPM, Resources, Work Centers), and planning heuristics.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and resolving CIF integration and scheduling issues.
- Exposure to batch job monitoring, planning board, and alert monitor usage.
- Ability to handle multiple tickets, prioritize effectively, and ensure timely resolution.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills with business and IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with S/4HANA Embedded PPDS environment.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, etc.) and ITIL-based support processes.
- Experience working in AMS (Application Managed Services) or global delivery models.
- Exposure to other planning modules like IBP, SNP, or DP is an advantage.
