Overview

The Admission Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students and parents through the admission process. The role involves understanding student needs, providing accurate information about the school’s programs, facilities, and policies, ensuring a smooth admission experience, and meeting enrolment targets. The counsellor serves as the first point of contact and represents the institution’s values and culture to new families.

Responsibility :

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Student & Parent Counselling

  • Provide information on courses, curriculum, admission procedures, fee structure, and policies.
  • Assist students and parents in understanding the right academic options.
  • Address queries through calls, emails, walk-ins, and virtual sessions.
  1. Admission Process Management

  • Handle admission enquiries and maintain updated records.
  • Guide parents through the application and documentation process.
  • Coordinate entrance tests, interviews, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure timely completion of admission formalities.
  1. Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Build rapport with prospective parents and students.
  • Participate in school promotional events, open houses, and orientation programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with feeder schools, education consultants, and local communities.
  1. Targets & Reporting

  • Achieve monthly/annual admission targets.
  • Track enquiries, leads, and conversions using CRM tools.
  • Prepare regular reports for the management on admission trends and status.
  1. Collaboration

  • Coordinate with academic teams, administration, and finance for seamless onboarding.
  • Work with the marketing team for promotional activities and campaigns.


SkillsDescription :

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience (1–3 years) in counselling, sales, or customer service (preferably in the education sector).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle queries with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic knowledge of CRM/ERP systems.
