Shift Time: AEST/AEDT Time zone, 9 hours/day including 1-hour break.

Job Description:

Dhillon Charter is looking for candidates who can handle Accounting and will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), ATO regulations, and local tax laws. The role supports financial accuracy, statutory compliance, reporting, and business decision-making.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate general ledger, journals, and chart of accounts
• Record daily transactions including AP, AR, payroll, and expenses
• Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Generate and send customer invoices
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and manage aging reports

3. Australian Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare and lodge BAS (Business Activity Statements)
• Handle GST calculations, adjustments, and reconciliations
• Support PAYG withholding and payroll tax compliance
• Assist with FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) data preparation
• Coordinate with tax agents and auditors as required

4. Payroll Support

• Process payroll in compliance with Fair Work & ATO guidelines
• Calculate superannuation, leave entitlements, and deductions
• Ensure accurate payroll reporting and record keeping

5. Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist in preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
• Provide variance analysis and management reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities

6. Software & Systems

• Work with Australian accounting software such as:
• Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online
• Maintain data accuracy within ERP or accounting systems
• Support automation and process improvements

Required Skills & KnowledgeTechnical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG
• Understanding of AASB standards
• Hands-on experience with Xero / MYOB / QuickBooks
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

Qualification and Skills:

1. Accounts Receivable/Payable with 1-2 years of experience.

2. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in any trade or in accountancy and finance or business and management, or the law would be preferred.

3. Good verbal and written communication skills.

4. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.

5. Excellent organization and time management.

6. An ability to take initiative.

7. A flexible and practical approach to work & commercial awareness.

8. Discretion when handling confidential information.

9. Maintain a diplomatic approach towards issues.

10. Confidence to provide support to high-profile company staff and board members.

Important: Communication Skills in English should be high.
