Sample Job Description Job Title: Accounts & Audit Assistant Department: Finance / Audit Reports to: Senior Accountant / Audit Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts & Audit Assistant to support daily accounting tasks and assist in statutory and internal audits. The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, and familiar with accounting principles and audit procedures. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update financial records and ledgers Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports Support internal and external audit processes Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies Assist in preparing audit schedules and working papers Liaise with auditors and respond to audit queries Record day-to-day financial transactions (e.g., invoices, receipts, payments) Assist in VAT, GST, and tax filings (as applicable) Support month-end and year-end close processes Skills & Competencies Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Excel) Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy Basic understanding of audit procedures Good organizational and time management skills Effective communication and teamwork Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (B.Com, BBA, etc.) Pursuing or completed professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CA Inter, CPA – optional but advantageous) 0–2 years of experience in accounting or audit (internship experience acceptable) Best regards, N.
