Department: Finance & Accounts Reports To: Finance Manager / Audit Manager / Head of FinanceJob Summary:The Accounts, Audit, and Indirect Tax Executive is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in statutory and internal audits, ensuring compliance with indirect tax laws (GST, VAT, etc.), and supporting the finance team in overall financial reporting and compliance. Key Responsibilities:1. Accounting & Financial ReportingMaintain day-to-day accounting records and ensure accurate posting of journal entries. Prepare and reconcile ledgers, bank accounts, and vendor/customer statements. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and month-end closing. Support management in budgeting and financial analysis. 2. Audit & ComplianceAssist in statutory, internal, and tax audits by preparing required documentation and schedules. Liaise with auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit queries. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls. Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. 3. Indirect Tax (GST / VAT / Excise / Customs)Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.). Reconcile GST input credit and output liability. Handle GST registration, amendments, refund claims, and notices. Stay updated on changes in indirect tax laws and implement necessary changes. Coordinate with consultants and authorities for indirect tax assessments or audits. 4. Documentation & SupportMaintain proper documentation for all financial and tax-related activities. Support management with data and analysis for decision-making. Assist in automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance department. Key Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards. Hands-on experience with indirect tax compliance (especially GST). Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems). Good analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools. Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. CA / CMA Inter or Semi-qualified preferred (optional). 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or indirect tax. Experience in handling GST compliance and audit coordination is an advantage. Work Environment:Office-based role with occasional visits for audits or assessments. May require coordination with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
