About The Role
Own end-to-end audit outcomes for our India entity while supporting broader APAC as we scale. The role mainly involves the following in addition to other activities:
- Auditor and regulator relationship management and planning
- Hands-on audit execution and month-end close support
- You’ll partner with Big 4 firms, drive PBC discipline, and produce audit-ready workpapers that stand up to re-performance.
- Lead statutory and tax audit planning, scope, timelines, and SLAs; manage end-to-end PBC lists and data room hygiene.
- Coordinate responses across Tax, FP&A, Payroll, Legal, and Biz Ops; maintain an issues/queries log and drive timely closure.
- Align early on complex areas (capitalization, share-based payments, intercompany).
- Interface with regulators/advisors as needed (MCA filings, Form 3CD, GST, TDS, Transfer Pricing).
- Prepare audit-ready schedules: GL-to-subledger tie-outs, reconciliations, flux analyses, lead sheets, TB mapping.
- Perform walkthroughs and control testing; compile evidence for substantive testing and sampling.
- Draft technical memos on judgments (revenue, capitalization, equity/SBC).
- Run/improve local month-end processes impacting audits: cut-off, accruals, provisions, intercompany, bank/cash, fixed assets.
- Dive into data in NetSuite and supporting systems to identify anomalies, trends, and control improvements.
- Manage and develop a small team with growth potential.
- Partner on process/system improvements to scale (close/recon automation, documentation standards).
- Support commercial reviews, business case analysis, and due diligence on M&A opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education: CA (Chartered Accountant) required; BA/BS in Accounting/Finance. CPA/ACCA a plus.
- Experience: 8–10 years total, with significant Big 4 exposure plus industry; tech/SaaS preferred.
- Strong Ind AS and Companies Act knowledge; working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Transfer Pricing; familiarity with IFRS/US GAAP a plus.
- ERP proficiency (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel/Sheets; close/recon tooling experience is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder management, crisp documentation, project management; ability to operate independently in a remote-first culture.
- Experience leading a multicultural team; experience using AI to streamline accounting/audit workflows is a plus.
- Willingness to take ownership, get your hands dirty, and help out where needed
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and working in high pressure situations
- Ability to solve high-value problems within an area with deep expertise. Delve into the details but also be able to explain solutions simply.
