Accountant

Accounts profile : Immediate Joiner Pref.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Track and process accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely vendor payments and customer invoicing.
• Assist in budget preparation, variance analysis and cost control initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., purchasing, sales, operations) for financial data requirements.
• Support internal audits, statutory audits and tax filings (GST, TDS, etc.).
• Maintain supporting documentation and financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial information and reports to senior management as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent; CA-Inter or part-qualified is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle or similar) and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Bengali/Hindi.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with Indian tax laws (GST, TDS) and statutory compliance is desirable.

Working Conditions

• Based at the Head Office in Salt Lake City, Sector V, Kolkata – the candidate is expected to work from the office.
• Standard working hours; occasional overtime may be required during month-end/quarter-end/annual closing.
• Interaction with cross-functional teams across finance, audit, procurement and operations.
