Job Description

The Accountant cum Accounts Manager plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial recording, analysis, and reporting. This position supports strategic decision-making by providing actionable insights, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining robust internal controls. The role also involves overseeing junior accounting staff and maintaining the integrity of all financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Provide financial insights through detailed analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare entries for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
  • Summarize financial status by creating balance sheets, P&L statements, and custom reports.
  • Analyze trends and recommend financial actions.


Transaction Processing & Control

  • Document and verify financial transactions.
  • Audit supporting documentation and maintain strong accounting controls.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Handle disbursements, backups, and maintain internal control standards.


Compliance & Advisory

  • Stay informed about tax and legal changes and ensure complete compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Advise management on necessary financial actions and regulatory matters.


Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise and support accounting clerical staff.
  • Coordinate team activities and respond to process-related queries.


Confidentiality & Integrity

  • Maintain complete confidentiality of financial information and customer data.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, CMA) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/financial management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.


Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle Financials, and MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of applicable financial laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.
