Job Description

Job SummaryWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, including mandatory statutory tax filings, daily billing, and client payment follow-ups. The role requires strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, excellent coordination skills, and accuracy in financial reporting. Key Responsibilities1. Taxation & Statutory ComplianceTimely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation, annual returns). Handling Professional Tax (PT) registration, deductions, and filings. TDS computation, returns, and compliance (if applicable). Ensuring compliance with Income Tax, GST, PT, and other statutory requirements. Coordinating with tax consultants, auditors, and government departments. Maintaining proper documentation for audits and assessments. 2. Accounting & Daily BillingPreparing and issuing daily invoices as per GST norms. Recording sales, purchases, receipts, and expenses in accounting software. Maintaining books of accounts, ledgers, and reconciliations. Bank reconciliation and cash flow tracking. Maintaining accurate billing and tax records. 3. Client Payment Follow-upRegularly calling and following up with clients for outstanding payments. Sending payment reminders via email/WhatsApp. Maintaining an accounts receivable aging report. Coordinating with internal teams for dispute resolution and payment closure. Ensuring timely collection and updating of payment status. 4. Reporting & SupportPreparing MIS reports on billing, collections, and tax liabilities. Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. Assisting management with financial data and compliance status. Required Skills & QualificationsEducational QualificationBachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) / M.Com CA-Inter / CMA-Inter (preferred but not mandatory) Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of GST, Professional Tax, and Indian tax laws Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, Busy, etc.) Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas) Understanding of invoicing and compliance documentation Soft SkillsStrong communication skills for client payment follow-ups High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to meet statutory deadlines Good coordination and follow-up skills Professional and polite approach while dealing with clients Preferred ExperienceExperience in service-based or SME environment Exposure to audits and departmental notices Prior experience in billing and collections
