Accountant

Job Title:

The Accountant will manage day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations using Zoho Books and Odoo. The role includes processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, performing reconciliations, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with taxation requirements in India and the USA. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, accounting knowledge, and hands-on experience with both Zoho Books and Odoo ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Maintain accurate AP records and control reports within Zoho Books/Odoo.
• Process and code invoices daily from the AP inbox; ensure timely payments via ACH or wire.
• Perform monthly AP reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Set up new customers, generate invoices, and manage customer billing inquiries.
• Ensure timely collection of payments per customer agreements; contact overdue accounts for collection.
• Process and record bank deposits for received payments.
• Maintain customer database and AR reports, ensuring accuracy and follow-ups.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare monthly financial statements including cash flow, expense, and profitability reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for AP/AR accounts.
• Review expenses for proper categorization; monitor and report budget variances.

Taxation & Compliance:

• Review and support GST filings (India) and sales tax filings (USA).
• Coordinate with tax consultants for accurate and timely tax submissions.
• Support financial and compliance audits by providing necessary documentation.

Process Improvement:

• Standardize accounting processes and documentation for accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the finance team to implement automation and system improvements in Zoho Books and Odoo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in accounting operations with focus on AP/AR.
• Proficiency in

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with GST, sales tax, and international accounting practices (India & USA preferred).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
