Position Summary Were urgently looking for a Backend Engineer to step into a critical role supporting our client in the end-to-end payment processing solutions. This position replaces a key team member and requires someone who can contribute immediately and take ownership of backend systems powering high-volume, secure financial transactions. As a Senior Engineer at Yularatech, the candidate will play a critical role in design, develop, and preferably deploying scalable applications on our AWS environment, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to high-quality standards. Youll focus primarily on backend development (80%), while also being able to collaborate effectively with frontend teams and understand integration points (~20%). This is a highly impactful role in a modern microservices environment with real-world scale and complexity. Technology Stack Overview Backend (Primary 80%) : Node.js & TypeScript Core backend stack for fast, scalable services NestJS Enterprise-grade framework for modular, maintainable backend systems Databases SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) Structured, ACID-compliant data storage NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB) Flexible, high-performance stores AWS Services ECS Container orchestration Lambda Serverless backend logic API Gateway, RDS, SQS, CodePipeline Cloud-native components for scalability, integration, and automation Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools Event-Driven & Microservices Architecture Decoupled systems, scalable event flows Security Best Practices IAM, encryption, secure APIs, compliance-aligned architecture Basic System Design Scalable, reliable system and API design Frontend Understanding (Secondary ~20%) : Familiarity with React, HTML/CSS, and consuming RESTful APIs Able to collaborate with frontend teams, debug integration issues, and support full-stack delivery when needed Key Responsibilities Translate requirements into actionable technical tasks using Jira Lead backend feature development from planning through deployment Manage production releases, monitor performance, and handle incidents Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and ensure quality through testing Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, QA, product) across regions Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement Occasionally assist with or debug frontend integration issues when needed Taking a lead role in the end-to-end development of web applications, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Skills and Experience. Deploy and manage cloud-based applications on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Firebase. Design and maintain microservices architecture for payment processing. Mandatory / MOST IMPORTANT Minimum of 6 years of backend development experience. Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS. Proven hands-on work with AWS services listed above. Solid experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Comfortable working in microservices and event-driven architectures. Working knowledge of frontend integration and cross-functional collaboration. Familiar with CI/CD workflows, Git, and Agile processes. Able to join within a month Desirable 68+ years of total experience in backend engineering. Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools. Domain experience in fintech, banking, or large-scale transactional systems. Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog). Previous mentoring or team leadership experience. Soft Skills Highly Impactful communication - Oral, written and presentation. Ability to work autonomously and produce high-quality outputs with minimal daily interventions Strong communication, highly proactive, problem-solving, analytical, and critical skills, including the ability to propose multiple solutions when challenges arise Experience in working with cross-cultural audiences Always possess the right attitude to create a win-win situation in the team.
