Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Value Engineer –Mechanical - Castings, Sheet Metal Enclosures, Machined Parts, Mechanical sub-assemblies, to lead cost optimization and value enhancement initiatives in Mechanical manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cost modeling, tooling, and part manufacturing, combined with expertise in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA). This role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, leveraging Six Sigma DMAIC methodologies and Lean principles to drive process efficiency and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities (Not extensive)
Cost Modeling:
Develop detailed cost models for part manufacturing, and tooling for Mechanical Commodities.
Conduct cost analysis to identify optimization opportunities in material, labor, and overhead costs.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA):
Analyze designs to enhance manufacturability and reduce complexity.
Recommend material specification consolidation to standardize processes and reduce costs.
Lean and Six Sigma Implementation:
Apply Lean principles and Six Sigma DMAIC methodologies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
Lead cross-functional projects to identify and eliminate cost drivers while maintaining design integrity.
Stakeholder Communication:
Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and project updates using PowerPoint and MS Excel to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to implement cost-saving strategies.
Technical Expertise:
Stay updated on the latest industry trends in Mechanical technologies, materials, and tooling techniques.
Provide technical guidance on pattern design, tooling specifications, and material selection.

Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, manufacturing, cost engineering, or related roles.
Certification: Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher (DMAIC) certification.
Skills:
Proficiency in cost modeling and COGS analysis tools.
Expertise in DFMA principles and material specification optimization.
Strong command of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
CAD/CAM/CAE Expertise: CREO / Solid Works / Magma Flow / MasterCam
Advanced skills in MS Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations.
Key Attributes:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
