We are looking for a UI/UX Designer who has a strong command of Figma, as it will be central to our design process.
Role Overview:
As a UI/UX Designer at Turnix, you will be responsible for designing engaging, user-centric interfaces that elevate the user experience across various platforms. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional design solutions that meet both business and user needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Lead the end-to-end design process, including wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity UI designs using Figma.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, marketing) to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- User Research: Conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate on designs based on user insights.
- Design Systems: Develop and maintain design systems in Figma, ensuring consistency across products and projects.
- Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes in Figma for testing and validation of design concepts.
- Responsive Design: Create responsive and mobile-first designs that adapt seamlessly across devices.
- UI/UX Best Practices: Apply best practices in UI/UX design to create intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces.
- Figma Expertise: Use advanced Figma features to improve workflow and streamline design processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Figma: Expertise in using Figma for designing, prototyping, and collaboration.
- Strong Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating your ability to create high-quality designs across web and mobile platforms.
- Design Systems Knowledge: Experience in creating, maintaining, and scaling design systems.
- UX Research: Familiarity with user research methods (interviews, surveys, usability testing) and the ability to apply insights to design work.
- UI Design: Deep understanding of UI principles, typography, color theory, layout, and responsiveness.
- Prototyping & Interaction Design: Proficiency in creating interactive and dynamic prototypes using Figma.
- Collaboration: Ability to work in a team environment with stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring pixel-perfect designs and precise design specifications.
Figma Techniques and Items an Expert Should Be Familiar With:
- Frames & Layouts:
- Frames for artboards, components, and grids.
- Auto-layout for responsive designs.
- Constraints for fixed and adaptive positioning.
- Components & Variants:
- Creation and management of reusable components.
- Use of Variants to create different states of components (e.g., buttons, cards).
- Component libraries for shared elements across projects.
- Prototyping & Interactions:
- Creating interactive prototypes (e.g., page transitions, hover states).
- Use of Smart Animate for smooth transitions between screens.
- Interaction triggers (On Tap, On Hover, etc.).
- Overlays and modal interactions.
- Vector Networks:
- Creating and editing vector shapes using the pen tool and boolean operations.
- Mastery of paths and vector editing techniques.
- Styles:
- Creating and maintaining consistent design styles for typography, colors, and effects (shadows, blur).
- Shared styles for text, fills, and effects.
- Use of color palettes and maintaining visual consistency.
- Grids and Layouts:
- Use of layout grids and columns for structuring designs.
- Responsive grids and columns in Figma to ensure adaptability.
- Advanced grid configurations, including rows, columns, and baseline grids.
- Collaboration & Sharing:
- Real-time collaboration with team members in Figma files.
- Commenting and feedback functionality for efficient collaboration with stakeholders.
- Sharing prototypes with stakeholders using Figma's sharing links.
- Version control and file management in Figma.
- Plugins & Automation:
- Use of Figma plugins (e.g., content generation, icon libraries, accessibility checks).
- Knowledge of automation plugins for repetitive tasks (e.g., Anima, Design Lint).
- Handoff to Development:
- Providing developers with clear design specs, measurements, and assets directly in Figma.
- Use of Figma's inspect mode for easy design-to-code handoff.
- Providing exportable assets (SVGs, PNGs, and JPGs) and managing resolution.
- Feedback & Version Control:
- Incorporating feedback from stakeholders into designs.
- Managing file versions and preserving design history.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with other design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision.
- Experience with UX writing and microcopy for UI components.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic front-end design principles.
- Experience with animation tools such as Principle, After Effects, or Lottie for advanced UI animations.
